
About the “Getting Big Things Done” Virtual Conversation Series
Civic Consulting Alliance’s mission is to make the Chicago region a great place for everyone to live in and work. Launched in late 2020, the “Getting Big Things Done” virtual conversation series brings to life how we strive to achieve this mission through cross-sector collaboration with institutional leaders with the power to affect transformative, systemic change. Through in-depth discussions with Civic Consulting Alliance clients across the public, private, and social impact sectors, viewers learn how we aspire to build an equitable Chicago region, and gain fresh inspiration to be part of remaking our regional systems to be more just and resilient in the future.

On October 26, 2020, Civic Consulting Alliance hosted a virtual discussion titled "How do healthcare providers build an equitable Chicago?" as part of our Getting Big Things Done series. This event focused on how Chicago healthcare providers collaborate to build an equitable Chicago. Civic Consulting Alliance’s CEO Rebekah Scheinfeld guided the conversation with institutional leaders from the City’s Racial Equity Rapid Response Team, including the Mayor’s Office, Rush University Medical Center, UChicago Medicine, and Esperanza Health Centers.

On December 14, 2020, Civic Consulting Alliance hosted a virtual discussion titled "How does racial healing and transformation build an equitable Chicago?" as part of our Getting Big Things Done series. The conversation focused on how the Chicago Mayor’s Office is catalyzing racial healing and transformation! Civic Consulting Alliance’s CEO Rebekah Scheinfeld guided a conversation with leaders advancing this critical work in Chicago, including: Candace Moore, the City’s first Chief Equity Officer; Laurence Bolotin, the Executive Director of the American Jewish Committee’s (AJC) Chicago Regional Office; and José Rico, the Director of Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) Greater Chicago.

On February 25, 2021, Civic Consulting Alliance hosted a virtual discussion titled "How Do Trauma-Informed Safety Approaches Build an Equitable Chicago?" as part of our Getting Big Things Done series. The conversation focused on how the Chicago Mayor’s Office and Chicago Public Schools (CPS) are centering equity as they reimagine public safety. Civic Consulting Alliance’s CEO Rebekah Scheinfeld guided a conversation with leaders advancing this critical work in Chicago, including: Norman Kerr, the City’s Director of Violence Reduction; Jadine Chou, CPS Chief of Safety and Security; and Karen Lynn Morton, parent active with Community Organizing and Family Issues (COFI) and Co-Chair Emeritus of POWER-PAC IL.
